Hello friends and family,
I hope this finds you well.
I’ve been working on various projects and commissions across my passion of drawing and painting, with more exciting things coming up.
Here are some updates on a few things I have been up to lately...

I’ve been working on various projects and commissions across my passion of drawing and painting, with more exciting things coming up.
Here are some updates on a few things I have been up to lately...
Big Book Project
Thanks to Creative Australia funding I am now able to work on 'An Accident' as a full colour book with an international publisher. This graphic story originally started as a zine after working in East Timor in 2013-15. I am happy this project will be able to reach a wider audience when it is eventually released in early 2028. More updates to come.
New Mural
Earlier this year I had the honour of painting a mural in the foyer and entrance to Fortyfivedownstairs for their 25th anniversary coming up in 2027. The mural runs through three levels from the gallery to the theatre deep downstairs and is part of warming up for the celebration and exhibitions in February next year.
Arts Hub Commission
I was also, by chance, commissioned to make a design for the 25th anniversary of Arts Hub recently. Odd coincidence I know.
The locally printed tote bag is due very soon and features my sentimental piece 'Contemporaries'.

New Zines and Exhibition
I have a new exhibition opening Oct 9. Bringing together recent works with a selection of drawings, OTHER TONGUE offers a new artistic dialogue shaped between myself and dear friend and long time collaborator Nelio Riga (FR).
Other Tongue Fikaris & Nelio
When these two artists met in a dark laneway in 2006, they came from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, yet shared a common instinct: to draw, to experiment, and to intervene in the urban spaces around them. They have collaborated ever since.
Twenty years on, for OTHER TONGUE, the artists present a new series of works on paper, initiated together in France in 2024 and finished this year. The works emerge from a simple proposition rooted in their shared experience of the street: one artist makes an image, and the other “buffs” it by covering, altering or erasing it, before the process begins again. Each mark carries the memory of what came before, while making space for what comes next.
The pop up project also features new writing from Sabina Andron, author of Urban Surfaces, Graffiti, and the Right to the City Josh VE, author of Buff & Cover and Chris Parkinson author of Peace of Wall.
I am very pleased to be sharing this fun new series with you all, including a fresh body of work made this month.
